Why do you do Art ? 

I create art to share the stories of our people. I want to create new visions for the world we live in, and what that world will require from us. How we have to shift and decolonize our minds, bodies and spirits as a people. I create for my ancestors, to tell the stories the send to me, so we know just how far we have come. 

Who are you?

I am a lover, a spirit, intuition, and grace. I am a nerd, a bookworm, a traveler and a teacher. I am an antenna for my ancestors and a channel for our future.

Where are you from?

I am from salt sea air, grits and salmon croquettes on Sundays, geechee slang and Southern hymns. I am from the South and simultaneously the caribbean. I am from the warm waters that sing, calling me home.

Where are you going?

I am moving toward my purpose everyday, I am going where my heart is called and where my voice is respected, honored, and valued.
